Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Youpi SARL(“Moyana”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Moyana mobile application and related services (the “Service”). Moyana is a dating service for adults aged 18 and over.

1. Data we collect

Information you provide

• Account data: your email address, and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the identifier those providers share with us.
• Profile data: your first name, date of birth (to confirm you are 18+), gender, photos, profile prompts, an optional voice introduction, relationship intentions, and dating preferences.
• Verification data: a live selfie used to confirm you are a real person and that you match your profile photos. This is biometric data and is treated as a special category (see below).
• Content: messages, photos, and voice notes you send inside a match, and reports you submit.

Information collected automatically

• Approximate location: used to show distance and nearby matches. We do not display your precise coordinates to other members.
• Device & usage data: device identifiers, app version, a push notification token, and basic interaction events used to operate and improve the Service.

2. How we use your data

• To create and manage your account and profile.
• To verify that you are a real, unique, adult person.
• To generate daily introductions and matches based on distance and preferences.
• To enable messaging between matches and send push notifications.
• To keep Moyana safe: moderation, fraud and abuse prevention, and handling reports.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Legal bases

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service); your consent (for biometric verification and, where required, location); our legitimate interests (safety, security, and improving the Service); and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

4. Biometric & verification data

Your verification selfie is processed by a trusted face-comparison provider solely to confirm your identity against your profile photos. It is never shown on your public profile and is not used for advertising. We retain it only as long as needed to maintain verification integrity and to investigate fraud, after which it is deleted according to our retention schedule.

5. How we share data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Other members: your profile (photos, first name, age, approximate distance, prompts) is visible to potential matches. Your messages are visible to the member you matched with.
• Service providers acting on our behalf: cloud hosting and storage, identity and photo verification/moderation, push notification delivery, sign-in providers, and analytics. They may process data only per our instructions.
• Authorities where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our members and the public.

6. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, safety and abuse evidence, or where required by law).

7. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, private media storage accessed only through short-lived signed links, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise many of these rights in-app, or contact us at privacy@moyanaapp.com.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where it is, we use appropriate safeguards for the transfer.

10. Children

Moyana is strictly for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we remove such accounts when identified.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
